Coulson Aircrane Ltd. is a privately owned family company based in Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada. The company has been in the aviation business for over 18 years and operates a fleet of light and heavy lift helicopters. The operations are fully supported in the field with qualified maintenance engineers and a supply of spare parts to maintain maximum operational availability. The company's aviation business includes helicopter maintenance facilities located in Port Alberni, B.C. on the west coast of Vancouver Island. These operations are ISO 9000 certified.
The company's operations include helicopter logging, forest fire suppression, power-line construction, airliner passenger transport and many other industrial heavy lift operations. The environmental program for Logging and Fire Suppression field operations is registered and certified by Quality Management Institute to the ISO14001:2004 EMS Standard. The helicopter services are provided in isolated locations across the province of British Columbia and within the other provinces Canada and within the United States, the States of Alaska, California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Nevada and recently in Victoria State, Australia and Azerbaijan. The fleet is geared for mobility and self-sufficiency and is supported by mobile fuel tankers and aircraft maintenance service vehicles staffed with qualified engineers. These helicopter aviation services are provided to clients on a "turn key" basis.
Coulson has flown over 93,000 safe flight hours in 19 years of operation. Coulson is committed to a safe work environment, throughout all its operations. Safe Aerial operations in remote mountainous situations are enhanced with use of twin turbine power helicopters such as the S61. As well, the use of long lines and grapples significantly reduce the risks related to rotor wash or vortices when operating in restricted treed mountainous terrain.
