Coulson Ice Blast’s IceStorm90 – 2017 R&D 100 Award Winner
Coulson Ice Blast’s IceStorm90 has been recognized as “One of the 100 most technologically significant new products of the year” by R&D Magazines 55th annual R&D 100 Awards.
The R&D 100 Award winning IceStorm90 is a non-abrasive blasting machine which uses ice as the blasting media. The result is a cleaning machine that uses significantly less water than a pressure washer and can also replace other commonly used cleaning methods and machines including: dry ice blasting, abrasive media (sand) blasting, and chemical cleaning.

Coulson Aircrane Ltd. and Coulson Aviation (USA) Inc. achieve ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100C certification
Coulson Aircrane / Coulson Aviation was awarded ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100C certification for its location of Port Alberni (Aircrane) and Reno, NV (USA).
The aerospace and defense industry is highly regulated and demands the highest level of quality standards for the development and manufacture of products.
AS9100C is an international standard with specific requirements for quality management systems focused on ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The quality management system also promotes enhanced customer satisfaction through effective applications of systems and continual improvement.
Achieving ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100C certification was a critical milestone for Coulson Aircrane / Coulson Aviation (USA) and it demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing a world class product to our customers, focused on exceeding customer’s expectations.

Coulson Aviation (USA) Awarded with United States Air Force Contract
Coulson Aviation (USA) – The world leader in aerial firefighting technology announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the United States Air Force to design, manufacture, and install up to seven 3500 US Gallon Aerial Retardant Delivery Systems in HC-130 H model aircraft.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the United States Airforce to provide them with state of the art retardant aerial delivery systems (RADS) for their fleet of C-130’s,” says Wayne Coulson, CEO and President of Coulson Aviation. Coulson first developed and installed the RADS in 2012 to equip their own C-130H/Q for aerial fire suppression. It currently holds a contract with the United States Forest Service.
Britt Coulson, Vice President of Aviation, also added "Our Next Gen SMART Controller, coupled to the C-130 RADS-XXL is the premier C-130 firefighting system in the world. We are the first system in the industry to employ technology to not only aid and reduce the workload of the pilots, but to produce a superior drop pattern on the ground. We look forward to supporting the USAF, USFS, and other countries around the world with their C-130’s.”
Coulson Aviation has 25 years of experience in aerial fire suppression and they operate both type 1 helicopters and large fixed wing air tankers. Coulson Aviation is also one of the only companies to hold multi country aerial firefighting contracts, including: Canada, The United States, and Australia.

Airbus Defence and Space and The Coulson Group to Collaborate on C295W Water Bomber
It has been confirmed that Coulson Group will work with Airbus Defence and Space to develop, manufacture, and install a Retardant Dropping System (RDS) the Airbus C295W transport aircraft. The RDS will consist of two removable internal tanks, each with a capacity of 3,500 litres and can be filled in seven minutes.
Antonio Rodriguez Barberan, Head of Sales, Military Aircraft, Airbus Defence and Space said: "Coulson's vast experience of aerial firefighting coupled to their superior equipment design and performance made them the obvious choice of partner and we look forward to working together for many years."

A Message from Wayne Coulson
It has been confirmed that our newest C-130 currently operating in Sydney, Australia under contract to the RFS will be departing Tuesday for Indonesia to support the devastating wildfires the country is experiencing.
This will be the first time that Australia has sent aircraft to support another countries wildfire state of emergency and our team is preparing the aircraft for what could be a long deployment and we welcome the challenge.
Our C-130 will be the biggest air tanker in the Indonesia wildfire battle that has crippled Southeast Asia with severe smoke. We will be posting daily about our progress as we settle into this battle.
