One of these days the heat and fire season will arrive. Now is the time to ensure you are trained, have the necessary resources at hand and are prepared for the dry periods.
Aircrane will have three S-61’s available for fire calls this year. C-FCLM is currently logging at Cataract, but will be made available for any needs in Canada. C-FMAY is completing final assembly in the hanger from her return from Australia, and C-FXEC will be returning from Brazil in the next few weeks. We are planning to park XEC in eastern Canada for potential fire work, and then move her to Saluit and Resolute in the Canadian Arctic for some mining cargo work in July and August.
The Hawaii Mars is now on contract with the BC Forest Service to the end of August. We are still hopeful that while the BC fire season is slow we are able to acquire other work in Canada or the US. The new Cessna 206 bird dog aircraft is up and operating. Thanks to all involved for a job well done.
Mars drop pattern testing for the Tanker Board is now successfully completed. We will be meeting with them in the next few weeks to determine any further requirements. Thanks to all involved in making this happen. It took a lot of coordination and effort by all.
